I have been involved in various competitive athletics my entire life. At 37 I decided to join Tecumseh Martial Arts Academy as a new challenge in my life. My only regret is not joining much earlier!! The Academy has been an excellent opportunity to enjoy physical fitness while learning the skills of mixed martial arts. Most importantly for myself has been the atmosphere and the people I learn from and train with every week. Dean Hersche and Miss Loree are exceptional instructors who make learning fun regardless of your age.

From the first time I stepped onto the mat with Dean at Tecumseh Martial Arts Academy, I knew big things would happen. I've yet to be disappointed!

Prior to starting martial arts, our son was very shy, quiet and not willing to try new things. His confidence has reached new heights. He isn's as shy and welcomes new challenges with great enthusiasm.

We were in a difficult spot a couple of years ago, with a son was struggling socially, academically, and as a result, with self-esteem. His impulsiveness toward others was getting him into a lot of trouble. Over the years we had tried several other sports but it always seemed that he wasn't quite meant for the team oriented sports. For quite some time our son had been asking to do martial arts, but as a mother, I thought that this would be a very bad idea for a child who was already dealing with impulsive issues. It wasn't until his ADHD diagnosis that we understood the aspects of the disorder.
Now, after having spent a few years with the Martial Arts Academy, we have discovered quite the opposite applied. Martial Arts has addressed several of his ADHD symptoms, as we as much, much more. In addition to learning the actual techniques, he has learned to be self-motivated, how to control his actions, respect for authority as well as care for his competitors, ways to control his thoughts, relaxation techniques, how to read a situation and more. Tecumseh Martial Arts & their dedicated teachers have been a very crucial factor in his personal success.

Tecumseh family Martial Arts Academy is a school that teaches discipline, self-defense, confidence and respect for ones self and others. This school has helped my son grow up and capitalize on the traits and characteristics he already possessed. Seeing your child gain confidence and rise in the ranks is very exciting. After the positive effects the program had on my son, I decided to join and share the positive activity with him. The instructors are continually advancing their own techniques and thus passing all of this to their students. Their "down to Earth, keep it real" style makes the classes enjoyable and practical. I find the training has also helped with my weight reduction, flexibility, stress relief and overall stamina. Not only does the program benefit you physically, but mentally as well.
I know we made the right decision in joining Tecumseh "family" Martial Arts Academy.

We put our oldest son in Jiu Jitsu four years ago for self defense. Not only has he learned self defense, but he has learned self respect and built up his confidence too. He not only uses this in class but at home and at school as well. We were so impressed with the outcome, we put our youngest in Jiu Jitsu as well.
Both boys enjoy this sport so much, they always want to come to class and they work very hard at it.
Thank you so much and keep up the good work.
